Our Atlanta crew isn’t a rotating cast of subcontractors. These are the same faces that show up in Buckhead, Decatur, East Point, and Vinings, carrying the same tool bags, wearing the same navy uniforms, and working to the same rulebook. What ties us together isn’t a mission statement on a wall. It’s Haven Standard Clause 1: the price on the phone is the price on the invoice. Every one of us has been background-checked, trained on documented photo records, and authorized to quote in writing before turning a single cylinder. Daniel Novak built this team to do one thing right: show up, name the price, do the work, leave proof.

Daniel Novak, Owner
Daniel started Novak Lock & Security in 2002 after six years of watching other Atlanta locksmiths change prices on doorsteps and disappear when callbacks came. He wrote the rule himself: no technician can alter a quoted price once a customer agrees to it. That was twenty-two years ago, and he still answers the overnight line when the service coordinator is handling multiple emergencies. Daniel holds factory authorization on Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, and Abloy high-security cylinders, and he’ll tell you flatly that a deadbolt costing more than the hollow-core door behind it is usually a sign someone oversold the hardware. He keeps a 1976 Schlage Everest cylinder on his desk as a paperweight, a reminder that good engineering outlasts marketing. When he’s not on a job in Midtown or reviewing photo records from the previous day, he’s usually at the supply house arguing about backorder timelines.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Novak Lock & Security for nine years, and he’s the technician other crews call when a commercial master key system in Sandy Springs isn’t mapping correctly. He’s factory-certified on Mul-T-Lock’s Interactive+ and MT5+ platforms, and he specializes in retrofitting older Atlanta office buildings where the original lock hardware predates any living master key chart. Marcus carries a handwritten log of every building he’s serviced in Fulton and DeKalb counties, cross-referenced by keyway and bitting, because he’s seen too many locksmiths guess at a system and create a security gap. Off the clock, he restores vintage motorcycles in a garage near Hapeville, a hobby that has made him unusually patient with stripped screws and seized set screws.
Elena R., Senior Installer
Elena handles the jobs where precision matters more than speed: Baldwin mortise locks in historic Druid Hills homes, electrified strikes tied to access control in new Atlantic Station mixed-use developments, and full rekeys on closing day when the buyer’s walkthrough is in two hours. She’s been with us for six years and holds certifications from both ASSA ABLOY and Allegion on commercial door hardware installation. He’s been with Novak Lock & Security for four years, and he’s trained to quote firm prices over the phone for residential lockouts, rekeys, and standard installations, no matter the hour. James maintains the dispatch board, the technician photo record archive, and the callback log for the 365-Day Done Right Promise. He’s the one who flags if a customer’s issue sounds like a security upgrade rather than a repair, so the right technician arrives with the right hardware. Before joining us, he managed logistics for a commercial HVAC crew, which explains why he refers to every job as “the ticket” and why his truck arrival estimates are accurate to within eight minutes. He lives in College Park and is known to test every new key cut by a technician before it leaves the shop.
Tariq W., Apprentice Technician
Tariq joined Novak Lock & Security in early 2024 after completing a locksmith technology program at a technical college in Gwinnett County. He’s in his supervised training period, working alongside Marcus on commercial jobs and Elena on residential installations, learning to quote in writing before touching a tool. Tariq is already factory-authorized on standard Schlage and Kwikset product lines, and he’s working toward his Medeco certification. His first solo job was a rekey in Kirkwood where he discovered the previous homeowner had installed three different keyways in the same house, none of them correctly pinned. He photographed everything, documented it, and walked the new owner through what she’d actually bought.
